Alexander’s North Wilkesboro Debut Filled With Grit and Growth

May 22, 2025 (CHARLOTTE, North Carolina) - 250 miles around the historic North Wilkesboro Speedway venue was “nothing but a dream” for the driver of the #02 truck. Jayson Alexander was making his first start of the season in the Craftsman Truck Series for Young’s Motorsports. With fast speeds, inclement weather, penalties, the day was filled was quite the action.

Behind the wheel of the Constant Contact Chevrolet Silverado, the day was scheduled to be filled with practice and qualifying sessions in the morning and then race action in the afternoon. However, Mother Nature has other plans, as qualifying was cancelled. Based off of a mathematical formula done by NASCAR, Alexander would start in the 31st position. The drivers would still be able to practice in a 50-minute session, which Alexander noted he was very thankful for.

The 1:30pm race time eventually rolled around, as pre-race ceremonies were conducted with Alexander, and all 33 other drivers, surrounded by their loved ones and crew members on pit-road. The roar of the engines shortly followed, with the drop of the green flag. All was smooth for the #02 team in the first stage as they were feeling out the truck and racetrack, until a caution appeared around half-way. Before the next restart there was an incident occurring in a miscommunication between NASCAR and the Young’s team, resulting in Alexander getting a penalty. The consequences were the team going multiple laps behind the leaders under green flag conditions. Additionally, several positions were lost because of this.

However, this event did not deter Jayson as he continued to keep pushing, knocking off quicker lap-times throughout the race and most of learning what the Truck Series is all about. After staying consistent and clean throughout the second and third stages, Alexander would pick up a few more spots finishing in the 30th spot at the waving of the checkered flag. Regardless of the finishing position, the Jayson Alexander Racing camp and Young’s Motorsports found the day to be a success. All the laps were turned, and the truck was completely clean, that’s what they came here to do and that was a win in everyone’s book.

“It was a dream come true to race at such a historic speedway,” Alexander stated on his experience. “Young’s Motorsports did a great job giving me an incredible truck and we got faster all day long. While a penalty put us behind early, we were still able to run all the laps and learn invaluable experience.” The following day, Jayson hangout in the Constant Contact booth located in the fan-zone, as he got the opportunity to meet fans traveling from far and wide. “This whole weekend wouldn't have been possible without them,” he emphasized. “I am very thankful for our partners in Constant Contact for making this race a reality.”

Jayson Alexander will carry over his learning’s and excitement into his second scheduled Craftsman Truck Series race with Constant Contact and Young’s Motorsports at Indianapolis Raceway Park. This event will take place on July 25, as you can catch the action at 8:00pm on Fox Sports 1.
